Before you set out
This is one English-service Mutianyu return, with a self-guided visit on the Wall. For a different section or a rail-led day, compare the Great Wall choices before booking. Carry the original passport used for the scenic admission and a copy of the operator’s confirmed meeting and return instructions.
The English MuBus page identifies Beijing Botrip Tour Holiday Company and offers a reservation form. It describes payment on departure with no deposit. Obtain written confirmation of your date, pickup, return, payment and cancellation terms before treating the form as a booking.
English MuBus product → operator confirmation
Choose the entry-ticket package, 08:00 or 10:00, and your date in the linked form. The operator says it will contact you by email to confirm details. A submitted form alone is not your final confirmation.

Confirm these terms in one message
Send the operator: 'Please confirm [date], [08:00 or 10:00], Round-Trip Bus with Entry Ticket, English onboard service, the exact pickup pin and check-in deadline, scenic-area return check-in and city drop-off, total price and payment method. What are the cancellation deadline, change and no-show charges? What happens to each ticket and the bus booking if the cable car closes? [Add any mobility limit, for example: I cannot safely use a stair descent.]' Keep the written answer with the booking.
Use the scenic operator’s current admission and closure information. A lift ticket and a bus seat are separate from permission to enter; if any necessary part fails, change the day.
Budget for the complete adult day
MuBus’s English product, checked 2 October 2026, lists the ordinary adult bus/admission/internal-shuttle package at CNY 180, or CNY 240 with its lunch. Its quoted enclosed cable-car return is CNY 140 extra. Use the regular-price comparison, not the separate app promotion.
- No package lunch: 180 + 140 = CNY 320 per adult, before the hotel connection and food.
- With package lunch: 240 + 140 = CNY 380 per adult, before the hotel connection.
- Worked Dengshikou hotel: walk to 灯市口 → Line 5 north to 雍和宫 → Line 2 toward 东直门; Exit C. The approximately 5.75 km rail chain is in the CNY 3 fare band. Return the same way: CNY 326 / 386 per adult including both local Metro trips, assuming the hotel walk is usable. Food outside the selected package and optional purchases remain extra.
These are calculated planning totals from the listed regular products and Beijing’s ordinary Metro fare bands. A taxi from another hotel replaces the CNY 6 local rail assumption with its actual meter or agreed service quote. The operator takes payment on departure by cash, Alipay or WeChat after email confirmation; an accepted order controls the selected date and terms.
Pay for each item once
The English package includes Wall admission and the scenic shuttle, but excludes the cable car. Its lunch variant adds lunch. The Chinese CNY 80 product is a different package with Chinese service and separate admission. If your confirmed transport excludes admission, use the linked official ticket centre and read the selected date, ID, ticket inclusions and refund conditions before paying. A scenic ticket alone does not book the Beijing bus.

08:00 English bus + enclosed cable car return
Select the 08:00 English departure for this version. The listing gives Exit C, a 15:00 scenic-area return and roughly 16:30 back near Dongzhimen. Keep the exact check-in and return meeting from your dated confirmation.
- Save the confirmed meeting pin and reach it before the stated check-in deadline

Worked hotel-to-hotel allowance: leave a Dengshikou-area hotel at 06:45; budget 45 minutes for the short hotel walk, station entry, two trains and Dongzhimen Exit C, then 30 minutes for locating the group and checking in. The operator’s 08:00 schedule gives roughly 10:00 arrival at its Mutianyu visitor centre. That is about 3 hours 15 minutes hotel to visitor centre in this worked plan, including check-in waiting. It is not a promise of traffic or an attraction-gate arrival.
For the published 15:00 road return, the operator gives about 16:30 at Dongzhimen. Budget a further 45 minutes for the reverse local rail chain and hotel walk, reaching the hotel around 17:15: about 10 hours 30 minutes out of the hotel. Save the actual city drop-off if the confirmation differs. Road queues can overrun this plan; avoid a same-evening train or flight.
Day trip or overnight?
Return to the same Beijing hotel. The selected bus already returns to Dongzhimen; a mountain hotel adds a different transport and baggage task. If the confirmed return no longer runs, move this outing or choose a different complete Wall day. An overnight stay is not an automatic rescue for a missed group bus.
A short route inside: Tower 14 and an optional Tower 15
Enclosed cable car → Tower 14 → optional Tower 15 → return
The scenic-area operator describes the Tower 14–15 out-and-back as light physical activity. Uneven surfaces and steps remain. Ask about the lift and access before buying; if they exceed your capacity, stay near the arrival platform or use a ground-level visit.

- Do not substitute the separate chairlift / toboggan product
- From Tower 14, go toward Tower 15 only while footing and knee pain allow; staying near the arrival platform is a valid shorter visit
- Turn back sooner if pain increases, the surface is slippery or the queue uses your return buffer
- If the cable car is closed before ascent, stay at ground level or move the Wall visit; do not replace it with stairs
- Ask station staff about steps and available assistance before ascending; keep the ground-level alternative when the route does not fit
- 10:00–11:15 planning block: collect the included tickets at the MuBus visitor centre, take the internal shuttle, reach the enclosed cable-car lower station and ascend toward Tower 14. This 75-minute block includes ticket handling, local walking and queues; no measured shuttle/lift split is available.
- 11:15–12:15 planning block: view Tower 14, then walk toward Tower 15 only if the steps, footing and return capacity fit. Reverse to Tower 14 on the same route. This is a one-hour sightseeing budget, not a measured 14–15 travel time or a step-free claim.
- 12:15–13:45: keep time for a seated break, food and the descent decision. If queues consume the spare time, drop Tower 15 and descend earlier.
- By 13:45: start the final descent in this worked 15:00-bus plan. Hold up to an hour for the cable-car queue/descent, shuttle and visitor-centre approach, then 15 minutes for return check-in. The guide’s actual meeting time takes precedence; ask about the queue before leaving Tower 14.
The bus deadline controls the Wall walk
Find the return check-in point with the guide before going up. Use the actual check-in time, not only the bus departure time.

- Allow time for the cable-car queue, descent and scenic shuttle; ask staff about the current queue
- Set a first reminder at least 60 minutes before check-in, earlier if queues require it
- At the first reminder turn back; at 30 minutes stop shopping and go to the meeting point
- Turn back earlier when the lift queue grows; contact the guide if descent threatens the return check-in
Know which seller handles the refund
For a MuBus package, ask MuBus about cancellation, unused inclusions and no-show charges. Its public no-deposit statement does not establish those terms. For tickets bought separately from the scenic area's English site, the official refund guide describes email-code login and the Refund action in the order. It does not establish a free-refund cutoff for every ticket; retain the purchased ticket's actual rules. Open your actual order, read that ticket’s refund terms and use the official Refund action or seller support.
When the plan stops working
- No confirmation, wrong exit or absent bus
Use the operator email above before travel. If no confirmed date, meeting pin, return and day-of contact arrive by the evening before, move the Wall day or arrange a written licensed-car round trip. At pickup, contact the supplier on your confirmation and remain at the agreed public meeting point; do not board an unmarked substitute that cannot match your order.
- Cable car closes before you go up
Do not climb the stairs instead. Ask staff about a ground-level visit or leave the ascent for another day, then contact the ticket seller about the actual closure/refund terms. Keep the agreed bus return.
- Cable car stops after you are on the Wall
Stay at or return only as safely possible to the staffed cable-car station. Tell staff you cannot safely descend stairs; ask them to assess the safe next action and available assistance. Contact the bus guide about the delay. Let station staff assess the available assistance; do not attempt a stair descent to meet the bus deadline.
- You miss the group return
Contact the operator immediately and remain in the staffed visitor area. Ask staff to help arrange a licensed taxi or confirmed car to your full Beijing destination, agreeing the fare and route before boarding. Do not assume a missed return is free or that a replacement car is immediately available.

Is the meeting point B1 or C?
The current English MuBus tour says Dongzhimen Exit C. Its separate Chinese day-bus page says B1 and lists Chinese service. Follow the product you actually reserve and resolve any conflict with the operator before leaving.
Does the bus package include a guided walk or the cable car?
The linked English package lists an onboard guide, admission and scenic shuttle. It describes the Wall visit as self-guided and excludes cable-car and toboggan costs. Buy the appropriate lift separately only after checking the route and operation.
